A slightly bizarre image simply marked “View of Werrington Gardens” that turns out to be a public tea garden which I believe was behind Lincoln Road in the area between the Cock Inn and the old Mill.
Werrington resident, Mick Lord, has a possibly different take on the image. “I believe the large house in the background adjoins Goodman’s Stores on Lincoln Road opposite Woodgrange Garage (Jet Petrol Station). In the left of the photograph behind the hedge would be Lincoln Road running south towards Werrington Brook. It may well have been that the Gardens ran all the way down to the Brook judging by the length of them”.
