British Sugar Steam

A great early 1970s shot of the old British Sugar factory at Woodston with Hudswell Clarke engine 0-6-0T No. 1746 hauling wagons out of the yard. Sister engine No. 1800 moved from the British Sugar site to the Nene Valley Railway at Wansford where it takes on the roll of “Thomas”, having been given the name at a British Sugar open day in 1971 by Thomas author Rev W Awdry.
