Edwardian Cowgate dominated in the foreground by WA Rands “Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe”. William Rands was born in Werrington and ran his furniture store from the mid 1880s but, by 1911, had returned to his wife’s birthplace in London where he was operating as an early estate agent !
