This image, dated 1908, is simply marked as “Thorney Toll Bar” so if anybody can add more detail then please do !
Quentin Rigby adds, “I’m with John Snushall who farmed at Thorney Toll – the building on the right belonged to his great grandfather, Daniel Snushall, and was a post office & general stores and became a petrol station selling Shell & National Benzoyl via a hand pump – now demolished and site is now where petrol station / Ibrahaim place is. The building on the left were Catholic houses but simply one room down and a ladder staircase to the first floor – pub now closed – Black Horse is to the left of the Catholic Housing – photo is taken with Peterborough behind and Guyhirn ahead.”
