I have possessed these three images for a number of years now but all I know about them is that they show the aftermath of a WW2 bombing raid with workers trying to put right the considerable damage.
They may be just south of Crescent Bridge and possibly after the air-raid of 16th November 1940 when the Fletton area took a pounding with 31 properties damaged. Alternatively, the middle image has a New England Yard feel about it with the signal box in the distance.
If you have any details relating to these, please let us know.
Kenneth Hook clarified, “The three images of war damage are of New England yards near to New England Loco Shed. You can see New England South signal box in one of the photo’s. The big hole was the result of a land mine.”
